How to Use My Second Sight

Your complete guide to staying aware while using your phone

1 Download & Install

Search for "My Second Sight" in the Google Play Store or click the Download button on our website. Tap Install and open the app.

💡 Tip

The app is only ~15MB, so it downloads quickly.

2 Grant Required Permissions

Camera: To show you the live view of what's ahead

Display over other apps: Allows the camera to float above other apps (required)

Microphone: For audio recording (Pro tier only)

⚠️ Important

The "Display Over Other Apps" permission is required for the app to work. You only need to grant this once.

3 Start the Camera Overlay

Open My Second Sight → Tap "Start" → Grant permissions → Press Home button. The camera window will float over other apps!

4 Move & Position Free

Tap and hold anywhere on the camera window, then drag it to your preferred location.

5 Adjust Transparency (Fade) Free

Use the Fade slider below the camera window. Drag left to make it transparent, right to make it solid.

6 Resize the Window Plus

Use the Size slider to make the window larger or smaller. Available with Plus ($3/month) or Pro subscription.

7 Record Video Plus

Tap the red record button to start recording. Tap the square button to stop. Videos save to the "My Second Sight" folder in your Gallery.

💡 Tip

Videos are saved in MP4 format. A 1-minute video uses about 50MB of storage.

8 Flip Camera Pro

Tap the camera flip icon to switch between rear and front camera. Great for vlogging or checking your appearance.

9 Stop the Overlay

Tap the X button on the camera window, or tap "Stop" in the notification, or reopen the app and tap Stop.

💡 Battery Saving

The camera uses battery power. Always stop the overlay when not in use.
